WHY GET AN ATTORNEY?
Do you know the tax consequences of transferring your deed? Do you know whether a deed transfer will violate your mortgage? Do you know the best way to take title? Do you know which deed to use to avoid future liability? If the answer to any of those questions is “no,” then you need an attorney.
WHAT IS A DEED?
A deed is a legal document that specifies who the owner of real estate is. Please note that in a coop, there is no “deed.” Generally, only condos and houses have a deed.
