LAST WILL & TESTAMENT: $250 (or $350 per couple)
A “last will & testament” is a legal document that allows an individual (the testator) to appoint one or more persons (the executor(s)) to manage his or her estate and distribute his or her assets to other designated individuals. Each will is prepared by an attorney (and not a paralegal or secretary). We charge $250 to prepare a will or $350 to prepare two wills for a married or unmarried couple.
LIVING WILL & HEALTHCARE PROXY: $250 (or $350 per couple)
A “living will” is a document which provides specific instructions regarding an individual’s treatment preferences should the individual become incapacitated. A “healthcare proxy” is a document which allows an individual (the “principal”) to select another individual (an “agent”) to make healthcare decisions for the principal should he or she become incapacitated.
A living will and healthcare proxy are usually done together. We charge $250 for the preparation of both documents or $350 to prepare both documents for a married or unmarried couple.
TRUST: $500+
A trust is a legal relationship between three parties. The first party (the “settlor”) transfer assets to the trust. A “trustee” manages those assets for the benefit of the “beneficiaries”. Trusts have important tax and estate planning considerations. There is more than one type of trust; call us today to see if a trust can benefit you. Our fee starts at $500 to set up a trust.
POWER OF ATTORNEY: $150
A “power of attorney” is a document that allows one person (the agent) to act on behalf of another person (the principal). We charge a flat fee of $150 for the preparation of a Power of Attorney.
